When you invite an important guest, you make sure that every corner of the house sparkles. You clean it up and remove those personal items and stash them somewhere or keep them in their proper place at least. You tidy up the exterior of the house and take extra care of the garden that day. You place some things, like flowers or fruits, on the table. You do everything to make sure that the guest loves the house and your efforts do not go waste. Then, it is impossible to understand why some people would not do the same things when a prospective buyer comes to see your place. At least, you know your guests and they would probably not even mind if the place is a bit unkempt.
